Test Results

Blood tests and other investigations which have been requested by the Dr or hospital are recorded in test_results1your notes so that the Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant knows which test to do. When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results.

Results will be available after sufficient time has passed for the labs to process them. Important, we can only give you results for tests we have requested to be done. If you have tests or investigations done at clinic or hospital appointments then they are responsible for giving you the results and you should contact them.

Results can be obtained by calling in to the surgery or telephoning after 2pm to get your results where the receptionist will advise of the Drs comment. Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results. It is your responsibility to follow up the results of any tests you may have arranged and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
